I had Pitocin with my...You know, I have done both. I had Pitocin with my second child (out of 4), and I have to tell you, there is no difference. I also am a L&D RN. <BR/><BR/>A ctx is a ctx is a ctx. Labor just hurts, darn it all. Pitocin does not make your uterus contract harder and stronger. It is a total myth. <BR/><BR/>The only thing it does is bring it on less gradually. Even that depends on the RN doing the induction. If she is considerate and not in a hurry, she will titrate it slowly and gradually. Usually the body takes over somewhere aroung 4 cm (sometimes later), and the labor is your own. I titate it back down at that point, when I know labor is in full swing.<BR/><BR/>I have also had all of my kids except the first, at 38 weeks, and they are all just fine. 38 weeks is considered term. <BR/><BR/>Hang in there!!!!
